I believe that God has placed on my heart, a priority for me and Hopewell Church, to place young people and families as a priority for the Year 2024.  Therefore, I am asking the Session to dedicate all 5th Sundays in 2024, (March 31, June 30, September 29, and December 29) to youth and family programs.  I would like to be the coordinator with other volunteers, both inside and outside of Hopewell to assist me. All activities will be presented to the Session for approval before being implemented. I will pay the expenses for speakers, musicians, etc. and will ask other church members for donations towards food/refreshments.  Also, I ask that the 5th Sunday be non-traditional in as far as the time of the activities. I want it to be flexible, i.e. for example the worship service might be at 1 p.m. with a lawn service with refreshments.  By now, you can see that this will be a challenge and only by the power of God can it be fruitful, for example, the first 5th Sunday falls on Easter Sunday so that will definitely be a challenge.  Only by the power of God!!!  Secondly, I would also like to encourage members of Hopewell to purchase individual T-shirts to be worn on the 4th and/or 5th Sundays.  Everywhere we go, God and Hopewell will be promoted: restaurants, gas stations, dollar stores, etc. The color and design of the T-shirt will be decided by the youth/family ministry team.
